Legion: Alpha Build 5/5

Remedyz World of Warcraft News Leave a Comment

A new build was put up on the Alpha servers on May 5th, and it brought some very interesting things! Some of the biggest information on class tuning has begun. So if you’re familiar with Alpha > Beta phase, you know that means we’re very close to Beta. The login screen for Legion is now view-able on the Alpha. Lots of reputation information, Tier 19 set bonuses, Stormwind Park being rebuilt and the Broken Shore scenario for the Horde is testable.

Notable changes focused on classes: Class Status – We’ve made many iterations based on feedback and testing. Here are some highlights: General – Tuning has started! A very rough pass has been made over all classes to get them into the same ballpark. Note that we have not yet finished a first tuning pass on artifacts yet; some specs are still significantly under- or over-powered with full artifacts. At this point, class mechanics are firm, but not necessarily set in stone yet. Protection Paladins – Revisions to Judgment, Avenger’s Shield, Consecration, and Shield of the Righteous, and Hammer of the Righteous, to create better gameplay. Seraphim readded as a talent. Brewmaster Monks – Gift of the Ox changed to trigger more reliably, and not trigger more often at low health. This effect has been moved to a talent, replacing Secret Ingredients. Expel Harm readded as a baseline ability. Retribution Paladins – Holy Wrath talent replaced with a new version of Sanctified Wrath. Marksmanship Hunters – Vulnerable revised to not snare the target. Artifact Trait Status – Mechanics are firm at this point, but not necessarily set in stone. An initial tuning pass is still ongoing. Some noteworthy changes include: Retribution Paladins – Divine Tempest and Echo of the Highlord tweaked. Brewmaster Monk – Active ability revised to grant a defensive benefit. Unholy Death Knight – Active ability revised to not overlap with Army of the Dead. Arcane Mages – Active ability revised to be attached to a target, instead of the ground. Broken Shore – Now ready for testing by Horde! We’d especially love to hear feedback about how it feels with both Horde and Alliance in there together. Please post feedback here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/20743715325 Order Hall Campaigns – We’re ready to test the campaigns (including Missions) for a few additional classes: Druid Priest Warrior Thanks, and we look forward to your feedback!

The reputation tabards have been added along with rewards toys, items, etc. The Nightfallen – These exiled Nightborne elves suffer withdrawals after being cut off from the Nightwell. They oppose their people’s alliance with the Legion and fight for some kind of redemption.

Valarjar – These are the chosen warriors of Odyn, sworn to his service in life and death.

The Wardens – After Legion forces broke the Vault of the Wardens with the aid of Gul’dan, what few Wardens remain are determined to rebuild their prison and hunt down the terrifying beasts that were let loose when it fell.

Dreamweavers – The druids and their allies in Val’sharah have guarded the Emerald Dream since time immemorial.

Highmountain Tribe – The Highmountain Tribe has dwindled in numbers over the years, and with the drogbar threat looming, seek new allies to save their homeland.

Court of Farondis – The ghostly Court of Farondis and its allies continue the fight against an onslaught of invaders on the cursed island of Azsuna.

As you can see, there’s plenty of things to grab from each faction. I personally, really want some of those companion pets and toys and I rarely aim to obtain such things. My favorite thing from the factions so far is from The Wardens items, http://legion.wowhead.com/item=136898 . The tabard for The Wardens also looks amazing. What’s some reputation items you want to work for in Legion?

The login screen has been completed and can be seen on the Alpha login screen. It looks fitting of Legion, green and ominous. The look and feel of the login screen is, excuse the language, badass. It’s saturated with the danger and fear that comes with the Burning Legion.

The Alpha is being updated more and more frequently, with each update bringing substantial content every time. Hopefully everyone is getting excited, it’s still a ways out so keep yourselves distracted and ready. This could be the year of revival for Warcraft – with the movie, Legion and a plethora of stuff in-between, we may just see a resurgence of World of Warcraft dominance.

What your thoughts on Legion so far? Let us know in the comments!

If you continue scrolling, I leave you with some spoiler images / videos, continue if you dare.

I enjoy walks on the beach, craft beer and World of Warcraft. Unfortunately only two of those work well together. I love Warcraft Lore, playing the game with friends and having a good time ;)
