Artifact Weapon Trait Additions – What You Need To Know: Patch 7.2 Legion

Belle Legion Guides Leave a Comment

In a very long forum post, “Watcher” Ion Hazzikostas outlined where we stand with our Weapons and artifact power, things that are changing in order to gain even more power with our weapon and introduced a mechanic that will lower the gap between the grinders and the seldom players. They have also opened up more artifact research, which now caps at 40, versus the current artifact knowledge level of 25. Here is a brief outline of how it works, as well as a video guide to help you prepare for what is to come in Patch 7.2.

Artifact Knowledge

Once you complete the little quest called “Seeking the Lost Knowledge”, you will be able to start researching again up to artifact Knowledge level 40. You receive the quest from Khadgar at Deliverance Point on the Broken Shore.

Artifact Trait Additions

Once you are on the Broken Shore, you will receive a quest from Khadgar called “The Broken Shore: Investigating the Legion.” You will need to kill mobs on the Broken Shore to find the Mysterious Runebound Scroll.  This will send you on a journey to which you will report back to Dalaran and receive, ‘A Gift From the Six.’

The completion of ‘A Gift from the Six’ will unlock 4 more traits on your weapon and refund the artifact power that you have added to the Paragon trait Stolen Power.

  • The Stolen Power trait will turn into rank 1.
  • This will also add 1 extra rank to all Rank 3 traits on your weapon for a total of 4 ranks.
  • Once you have maxed out all 4 new traits another Paragon trait called Concordance of the Legionfall will be added that goes up to rank 50.
    • Concordance of the Legionfall – Your abilities have a chance to trigger Concordance of the Legionfall, increasing your main stat by 2000 for 10 seconds for Rank 1.
      • Each Rank increases the stat by an additional 200 each time you add to it.
      • By Rank 50 you will gain a main-stat increase of 11800 for 10 seconds.
  • With your refunded artifact power from the Stolen Power Paragon trait, you can use it on the new traits or begin adding the additional 4th rank of your other traits.
  • Artifact Power cost will continue into the billions and up, so this will become quite a feat to max out your weapon.

Once you max out all your traits you will unlock the final Paragon trait.

Order Hall Upgrade Additions
  • You will be given two additional tiers for your order hall advancements (Currently, we get 6 tiers).
  • For tier 7, this upgrade costs 20,000 order hall resources. You will be able to choose between being able to recruit additional recruits for completing missions or Increasing the number of your current active champions by one for a total of 6 active champions.
  • For tier 8, this upgrade costs 30,000 order hall resources. You will be able to unlock a second, throughput trait for your equipped relics.
  • The second trait will be a random, throughput trait.
  • The second trait cannot be the same as the first.
  • Edit: As of today, 3-7-17, the Tier 8 will no longer be the Relic Empowerment. This will no longer allow a second trait on your relics. It is being replaced with with one that grants a chance for Artifact Power rewards from World Quests to be doubled.

I have done a video outlining the above with further explanation.
